I have been waiting for Dennis Villeneuve’s Dune since he sat a
few rows infront of me at a screening of Beautiful Boy at
TIFF 2018.  The cast.. the movie star moment for timothee..
han zimmer.. the Abu dhabi dessert that I grew up by..
ya im ready

Jeremy Strong and Succession win the EMMY

JEREMY !! Succession nation ate good tonight ! We didn’t win
as big as we should have at this year’s Emmy’s, but if there
was ANYONE from the cast I was determined to have take home
the emmy it was my number one boy !!

Luca is Back! With We Are Who We Are

The way I have been craving Luca content since 2018..
This is another project I have been excitedly waiting for
since the cast photos were published. With only 3 episodes
released, I am completly enamored with it. And if i’m
being honest, it was always going to be on this list. As
a long time lover of Luca’s work and interpretation of one
of my favorite books,Call Me By Your Name, the Italian
summer daydream bears a lot of similarities to his new
project. It is deeply relaxing and transporting in the
way Luca projects are and I am kind of obsessed with it.
If you like work that feels like a vibe rather than a
moving story, then this is for you <3

Rewatching Call Me by Your Name

Yes, We are Who We Are brought me here.
I hadn’t seen cmbyn since early 2018 after
watching it almost 10 times since I saw it
at NYFF 2017. There is something incredibly
sacred about watching this movie and
re-watching it literally felt like reliving
a memory. Timothee Chalamet was always
sublime, but I felt the most appreciative of
his performance during this watch. Surprise!
I cried ! Not to mention am still
picking up the pieces of my heart that
this movie completely opened up and broke!
Languid, sensual, warm,Call Me By Your
Name is a masterpeice.

Harry Styles and Florence Pugh in a
psychological Thriller

Don’t Worry Darling was literally just announced
(I may or may not having a copy of the screenplay) ;))
and I can’t even process the news. Olivia Wilde
directing,Florence and Harry as a married couple,
and a drama/thriller??
A dreammmm and a cultural moment that hasn’t
even occurred yet.

Saks Potts SS21

This Saks Potts SS21 campaign was such
a cool take on the standard “lookbook.”
This early 2000’s paparazzi photo
aesthetic just works and feels very
creative and chic for an upcoming brand.
With COVID restrictions, I haven’t been
crazy impressed with big houses
assimilation to the times of fashion-
with their huge budgets it doesn’t
ALWAYS have to be a white backdrop or
a runway show… it really is
a testament to the creativity of young
and new brands that I feel older
houses sometimes lack.

Story Diver’s Hunger Games videos

Some may argue The Hunger Games trilogy’s present
cultural influence lacks prevalence, and that my current
obsession with it is like 7 years too late, but I don’t
really care. The Hunger Games were never just a YA trilogy-
the books have always been an accessible medium for
young people to understand and discuss war, trauma,
and politics- and still have deep relevance to
current world affairs. So yes, I do bombared my friends
about how long they think I would last in a games and watch
gen z hunger games tiktok compilation videos to
feel something. I came across a small youtube channel
called Story Diver, ran by a girl who imagines
alternative situations that could have happened in the
books. This girl is a gem and I have watched her videos
all month.Great theories, creative video ideas,
and fun discourse in the comments. If everyone in your
life has shunned your attempts at discussing the
trilogy, check this queen out !

I discover Role Model

Though he looks like the sort of skater guy I would make
fun of in one my college seminars, I actually really
love Role Model’s music.I discovered him this month
and have been listening to his stuff non-stop.His music
isn’t really something I thought I would go for anymore,
but something about him brings me back to 14 when I would
deny my love for one direction to seem cool and instead,
listen to sad indie music and call it “taste.”
Nostaligic, romantic, lyrical. If you like rex
orange county you will probably like him. Girl in New
York is a personal favorite. Plus he wears cute sweaters.

My Dark Vanessa

In between other books, My Dark Vanessa was being read
during my whole september.Dissecting the complexities
of a 15 year old’s sexual relationship with her
teacher that expands on and off into Vanessa’s 30’s, My Dark
Vannessa is very hard to get through. I took days to reopen
between chapters. The rape scenes (because that is what they
are) are graphic and psychologically perplexing, our protagonist
confusing her abuse with sexual awakening and “first love,”
but also navigating the things about him that irk her.
In many ways, Vanessa never learns to move forward from him,
the talent ambition, the growth and ability to create healthy
relationships lost because of her relationship with this teacher.
It is disturbing but also its last 50-70 pages are a great and
moving acheivment.
A book that explores the blurred lines of sexual assault and
what it means to be a “perfect victim.”
